In light of the evolving pandemic and guidance from the CDC, ADA, and CMS, to protect staff and preserve personal protective equipment and patient care supplies, as well as expand available hospital capacity during the COVID-19 pandemic, we have made the difficult decision to temporarily close our practice. We do not make this decision lightly; however, our top priority is the health and well-being of our patients, families, staff, and community. We are taking this step week-by-week to see if conditions change, but we will likely need to be closed until April 6th if current guidelines do not change. (see
We WILL be available for emergency situations. If you need emergency dental care, please call (208)484-6222.
Again, please understand that we are making this decision with the health and well-being of our patients, our families, our team, and our community in mind. We thank you for your patience during this challenging time and wish all of you continued health.
As a reminder, our practice always utilizes strict universal infection control protocols with each and every patient. All equipment and procedural areas are consistently and aggressively sterilized and disinfected in an effort to protect patients, caregivers, doctors, and staff. Employees and providers are required to wash and/or sanitize hands between each patient as well as wear protective masks, gloves, and eyewear. We have also increased environmental cleaning of frequently touched surfaces in the office, such as workstations, countertops, and doorknobs.
While the risk for COVID-19 remains high, we ask that patients, caregivers, staff, and doctors follow certain guidelines. Please read the protocols below to stay consistent with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
1. If you have symptoms of acute respiratory illness (fever, coughing, shortness of breath), it is recommended that you remain at home until symptoms have subsided for at least 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing or cough suppressant medication. It is then recommended waiting 2 weeks before rescheduling your appointment, unless needs are urgent. Urgent needs are described as severe tooth pain, swelling of the face, neck or gums, abscess, uncontrolled bleeding and trauma.
2. If you have recently returned to the United States from an area where widespread sustained transmission of COVID-19 has been confirmed by the CDC we ask that you please reschedule your appointment for no earlier than 2 weeks from the date of return.
3. Please be aware of you touch, where you have been, and who you have been in contact with. In addition, we will screen all patients for signs of illness including checking temperature. For maximum risk reduction follow these tips:
• Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds or use sanitizer with 60% alcohol
• Cover your cough and sneeze with a tissue or into your shirt or coat. Please use inner elbow if no tissues are available.
• Avoid touching your face (eyes, nose and mouth)
• For the latest information about Coronavirus, visit the CDC’s resource center.
Thank you for your support as we try to create a safe and friendly environment for all!
